Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of SimCode (simcode.cc), a browser-based learning environment for Python and MicroPython operated by Iotmaker (아이오티메이커) ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

SimCode provides interactive programming courses, an in-browser code editor and runtime, a hardware circuit simulator, and AI-assisted learning features. Free courses are available to all registered users. Paid courses are accessed by purchasing a time-limited Course Pass (3, 6, or 12 months per course).

2. Accounts

• You may sign up with an email address, a Google account, or a GitHub account. An account is created automatically on your first login.
• You are responsible for activity under your account. One account may be actively signed in on one device at a time; signing in on a new device signs out the previous one.
• You must provide accurate information and be legally capable of entering into this agreement, or have consent from a parent or guardian.

3. Course Passes and Payment

• A Course Pass grants access to one course for the purchased period. It is a right to use, not ownership of the content.
• When a pass expires, access to the paid course content ends, but your learning records (progress, review history) are preserved. Repurchasing resumes where you left off; purchasing while a pass is active extends from the current expiry date.
• Payments in Korea are processed by Toss Payments. International payments are processed by Paddle.com as Merchant of Record; Paddle handles taxes and invoicing for those orders.
• Prices are shown before purchase. See the Refund Policy for cancellation terms.

4. User Content and Code

• Code you write in SimCode belongs to you. If you connect GitHub, your code is backed up to a repository in your own GitHub account under your control.
• Course authors retain responsibility for the content they publish. We review courses before they are listed but do not guarantee their accuracy.
• You may not upload content that is unlawful, infringes others' rights, or attempts to disrupt the service.

5. AI Features

AI tutoring, hints, and grading are generated by large language models. AI output may be inaccurate and is provided as a learning aid, not authoritative instruction. Free AI usage is subject to daily and monthly limits; you may optionally register your own API key.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to: share your account or purchased access with others; scrape, copy, or redistribute course content; reverse-engineer the service; or use it to build a competing content library.

7. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from Account settings; this permanently deletes your data (see Privacy Policy). We may suspend accounts that violate these Terms, with refunds handled per the Refund Policy where legally required.

8. Disclaimers and Liability

The service is provided "as is". We do not warrant uninterrupted availability. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including your statutory consumer rights.

9. Changes

We may update these Terms; material changes will be announced in the service. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

10. Governing Law and Contact

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence. Contact: badajsy@gmail.com.
